Design phase.
Hi everyone! ☺
This week i am going to talk about design phase of a presentation. Designing a project is, perhaps is the most difficult phase of all, because we have to think in detail how our presentation is going to be, what should we take in consideration before we design it. So during this phase we present our key features, for example the structure, target audience, use of materials, presentation programs etc.
The design phase generates a variety of different outputs, such as flowcharts, PPT, photos, clusters etc. Combining all these elements together can result in a very interesting presentation. In the design phase one or more designs are developed, with which the project objectives will be achieved. But one important thing is that once the design has been chosen, it can't be changed later on. Educators should assess students work after each step of the Design phase to make sure that they are meeting all requirements of the lesson. For example, the teacher should be able to review and to confirm that they are achieving all the objectives before they allow the students to use multimedia.
Design phase help students plan and organize their work. Once the project is closer to finalization, it's time to think about Design. We have to mention that nothing is guaranteed at this phase. Nevertheless, this is the phase where the presentation is about to begin. Yes, i know that it is quite challenging, but its vital to teaching. During this phase we organize the project requirements and target audience. The specific structure is determined primarily by the project's contents and goals. Also the target audience is important in this phase. Who are the learners? What are they going to achieve by the end of the lesson? How are they going to use multimedia during the presentation? All these questions are to be answered during Design phase.
I would like to mention the final presentation we have to present by the end of May. Each week we described our project in details, we described everything we are going to use during the presentation. And this has to do with Design phase. Interesting, right? Step by step each week we organized our ideas, our thoughts, the elements of the project. Designing has been really useful and effective to us . We are now able to structure a presentation with all its elements, including storyboards, scripts, flowchart, clusters and many more.
Students should have a clear idea of the lesson, and to have a look on the general planning of the presentation. Design phase is the most important phase in constructing a lesson plan. So we need to focus more in its elements, in order for the lesson to be well-constructed.
Thank you for your time and feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section. Stay positive!

Good work Elena!
ReplyDeleteI found your post very informative and helpful.
I really enjoyed reading it 👍
Hi Elena! As always, it was a pleasure reading your blog. You have made the role of the design phase very clear.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that when we arrive at this phase, it is not the end of the project, but only the beginning. Good job! :)
