Develop phase/ Media Components

Hi everyone! 

Hope you are all doing well. As for today’s topic, we are going to continue with DDD-E model but this week with developing phase. At this stage we gather all the elements of multimedia, including images, texts, animations, sounds, audio and so on. So during this phase we deal with the design and use of multimedia.
The teacher is supposed to guide the students and to facilitate their learning process by making suggestions when necessary. The students, this way would be more encouraged to keep learning.
During this phase we can make use of different media elements, because they are beneficial to students. They motivate them and make them feel effective to the teaching process. Also they attract students attention, making them part of the lesson by participating in discussions, giving opinions and so on. Another valid point is that is gives LIFE to a presentation. It gets rid of that monotonous feeling. Is something different, something new to the students, something they rarely experienced before.
Another feature is Audio. It is very important to use audio during a presentation. It’s a very important tool. We can include music, we can record our voices as well, or any other sound effect. Using audio will bring excitement to the students. It will facilitate their learning and will develops students’ motivation to the program. There are different methods we can record audios, using computers or CD or other applications that we may find online. We just have to think of what we are going to say, because for the rest takes care the internet. Also we can add text as well to the recording, because some students may struggle with the audio or the voice and subtitles could eliminate this problem, or at least make it less noticeable. But we should be aware that audio could not be used anywhere. We should choose very carefully where we want the audio to be used, because it may distract the students and also it may be inappropriate to the content we intend to use it.
So, all these features are very important when we are dealing with develop phase. We should think in details in order for the final product to be what we expected it to be.

    Hello Elena. I enjoyed reading your blog. I agree that the teacher is supposed to be a facilitator and guider in this phase. And definitely, using multimedia elements avoids monotony. I really liked the fact that you added some ways we can add these elements. Good job as always!

DDD-E Model and Constructivism

Hi everyone!  This week i have another interesting topic for you. Constructivism and DDD-E model.   DDD-E model - each letter stands for a specific definition. Decide - Design - Develop - Evaluate  The Decide stage focuses on the determination of program objectives and materials through analysis of PBL development needs. Design stage shows the design structure of the program. And the Development stage includes production and media programming. While in the Evaluate stage see the whole process that occurs in the development of multimedia proved by the validator.  Educators should assess students’ works after each step of the Design phase to make sure they are meeting the requirements of the lesson.
